Japan has been witnessing a wave of kindness spreading around the country.
Facilities for underprivileged children have been receiving anonymous donations
in the name of a Japanese manga hero.
"Tiger Mask" is the ring name of a professional wrestler
in a manga of the same name that was popular in the 1960s and 70s.
The hero of the manga, Naoto Date,
grew up in an orphanage and eventually became the wrestler Tiger Mask.
Date donated his winnings to the orphanage where he spent his childhood.
Since Christmas Day, donations under the name of
"Naoto Date" have been showing up at children's welfare facilities across Japan.
More than 100 facilities have received gifts.
In Yamagata Prefecture, workers found 44 leeks, 11 heads of cabbage and
five 30-kilogram sacks of rice, as well as a 10,000 yen note in an envelope.
There was also a message asking the children to share the food and be strong.
Some believe that the heartwarming story has inspired other people
to make anonymous donations.
