BOSTON —
Daisuke Matsuzaka was a wayward baseball player
for almost three months in the spring and summer,
a proud competitor who was not pitching
and who wondered about his future with the Boston Red Sox.
While Matsuzaka rehabilitated from a lingering shoulder injury apart
from the team, he admitted that he “was not sure if I could ever make it back.”
