Austrian village offers free land to boost population
A village in northern Austria, worried by its dwindling population,
is offering free land to all who pledge to start a family in a decade.
Plots of 800 and 900 square metres are up for grabs at Rappottenstein,
near the Czech border, to both singles and married couples
who pledge to have at least one child in the next 10 years.
人口減少に悩むオーストリア北部のラッポッテンシュタイン村が
カップルに無償で土地を提供している。
チェコとの国境に近いこの村の人口は１７６０人。
１０年以内に子どもを作る予定のカップルに
８００-９００平方メートルの土地を無料で提供する。
